Joe Lauzon Makes Top MMA Submissions of 2011List (MMA / UFC)
January 31st, 2012

Since 2009, Joe Lauzon has not gone a fight without winning some type of bonus in the process. Coming off a Submission of the Night win over Curt Warburton, Lauzon looked to keep this streak going and rise the ranks when he took on Melvin Guillard at UFC 136. Not wanting to waste any time, Guillard looked to rush Lauzon, whose level head allowed him to tag the veteran lightweight, rocking Guillard in the process. Seeing his opponent in dire straits, Lauzon jumped on the chance to take Guillard's back before sinking in the rear-naked choke just 47 seconds into the fight. Taking Submission of the Night yet again, Lauzon jumped the lightweight ranks while keeping his award-winning streak still intact.  More »

In-Season Training

In order to complete a full sports season, maintaining strength while competing is vital to an athlete's health and success. Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning provides athletes the opportunity to work out in the same way college or professional athletes train during their seasons. The program focuses on movement training, a low volume lift and does not include conditioning. The goal of this type of training is to help athletes preserve the strength and power gained in the off-season.

With the tough practice and game schedule, working out three or four times per week is not a possibility. However, a two day in-season program is much more feasible. In order to make training as convenient as possible, we offer various options for athletes that work with their schedules. Athletes will gain the most from their workouts the day after a game, so if a team plays on Tuesday and Friday, the ideal days for training are Wednesday and Saturday.

In Season 2 Day Program

Workouts are 1 hour in length

PURPOSE:

  • Maintain Strength & Power
  • Improve Speed and Quickness
  • Reduce the Chance of Injury
