Mike Boyle Prepares Athletes for NHL Combine, Producing Standout Performances
May 13th, 2012

Mike Boyle, one of the more respected strength and conditioning coaches in sports, has a history of preparing players for the combine. They will attend an event that is one of the more curious on the league's calendar. One of its highlights: Some of the world's teenage puck prodigies vomiting after an all-out sprint on a stationary bike. That's the NHL combine. It is one tool in the annual crap shoot in which clubs project how a prom-aged boy might someday lead his team to the Stanley Cup. With each passing year, however, its importance can be questioned because of how well-prepared the youngsters are becoming.  More »

Testimonials

"Just wanted to say thanks for the 4 Day mentorship experience! You and your staff were friendly and helped out a ton. It is easy to see why your business is successful. The information I learned I can now use in my everyday training life and in near future when I open my own place."

"The MBSC Mentorship Program is an educational tool with a hands-on approach to facility management, scientifically based performance training and social media development for the fitness industry.  You can see why MBSC was ranked the #1 gym in the US with its highly motivated staff, knowledgeable coaches, and functional gym design.  Watching professional, college, and high school athletes train was truly an awe inspiring experience.  A spectrum of topics were addressed and no stone was left unturned during our daily open forums.  Overall, Mike Boyle provided a genuine, thought provoking experience sparking new ideas and interests that I plan to implement with my staff and athletes."

"Quicker, Faster, Stronger. This is some of the information I learned after attending the MBSC Mentorship program. You will truly understand why Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning center is not a gym, it's the most progressive way to train athletes. And to prove Mikes principles work, recently one of our athletes who trained using Mike Boyle's training techniques was invited to a National Hockey camp, finished first as the strongest and best conditioned player of the 58 players in attendance.  You won't be disappointed"
- Giles Lascelle (Ontario Hockey Academy)

"This mentorship program was way more than what I expected. Everyday I learned new things, which I put to use immediately when I got back home. It was very evident that coach Boyle wanted to share his wealth of knowledge with those who are willing to learn. I appreciated all the time that he put aside to invest in our future, and the future in the world of strength and conditioning and personal training. Thank you coach Boyle and all MBSC staff."

"The best thing about the Mike Boyle mentorship program is, well, Mike Boyle! Unlike some "big names" in this industry who are rarely present at their own programs and charge hard-earned money, Mike is always there. He rolls up his sleeves and gets down and dirty. His teaching methods guarantee 100% satisfaction and you'll never feel short-changed. I want to thank Mike's trainers for their incredible enthusiasm, patience and willingness to help. I highly recommend a trip to Mike Boyle's place, where you're sure to meet the real deal."

"Mike Boyle's mentorship program was truly a unique experience. not only did it give me great tools that I could start applying with clients immediately, it was months or maybe years of information explained or shown in detail in 4 days of learning. Mike can speak among professors of exercise science, as well as keep it simple for the new coach or trainer, all the attributes of a great teacher. Mike's experience and knowledge are primarily based on facts and years of experience and research, not opinions. He is someone to respect and admire in this industry, priceless."

“ Kyle Newman

I wanted to once again thank Mike for making the recent Mentorship program such a memorable, insightful and fun experience. Specifically, I really liked the morning portion of each day. Having the opportunity to ask you anything I wanted, especially in a small group setting was worth its weight in gold. As someone who has seen you speak in much larger venues, having that opportunity was incredible, and frankly a lot of fun. I came to MSBC to learn from you, and you more than delivered. Even during your coaching sessions, you made it apparent that you were available, interested and open for questions. As well, your whole staff couldn't have been more receptive, professional or friendly. Looking back, it was also evident that the makeup of the group has a big impact on the dynamic and flow of the mentorship experience. In this regard, you really go in the direction of the people in front of you, which is a huge strength of the program and one of the main reasons why coming back would be valuable, as each time would be different. As I have said above, you provided a truly memorable experience-one that I would whole hardheartedly recommend if not personally do again.

“ Gabriel Valencia CSCS, MES

Thank you for holding such an insightful and thought provoking mentorship last week. It was all I expected and more. As for feedback, I really enjoyed the open format. I wasn't quite sure how that would play out at first, but in the end, that is what set the mentorship above and beyond other educational events I have been to. Holding an open forum and letting the conversation go where it may, allowed everyone in attendance to get exactly what they were looking for. Your facility is top notch and your staff members were extremely helpful. I would absolutely consider coming back again as the content would most likely evolve, or be completely different depending on the group.

“ Joe Masiello

The MBSC Mentorship was nothing short of awesome! While I am usually not the first to give overwhelming praise, in this case it is more than warranted. Mike and his staff open the facility for you to see how it works, the methods behind the training, the opportunity to participate in the workouts, and unlimited access to the staff, those who have been there for years, and those who are just getting started. The morning portion is invaluable, as you can discuss your most
challenging issues, and Mike listens intensely and speaks passionately in his responses. Unlike some other mentorship programs out there, you actually get to spend time with the owner and the mind behind the training methods, and in this regard, Mike is one of the most humble individuals I have ever met. If you are a strength coach who truly wants to make an impact in your region, and the industry, you will not find a more rewarding and educational experience than Mike Boyle's Mentorship program. I have so many ideas and took so many notes from the program that I am completely rewriting my business plan going forward, and implementing a number of Mike's warmup and training methods.

Thank you, Mike and the rest of the staff, for such an opportunity.
